Suspect Arrested for Breaking Into Construction Site and Stealing Tools

A coordinated effort between the NYPD and Shomrim led to the arrest of a suspect involved in multiple thefts, including a break-in at a construction site.

The incident began when Shomrim volunteers were alerted to a suspicious individual near a local grocery store. Initially, the suspect appeared to be targeting morning deliveries at a nearby pizza shop. Shomrim volunteers monitored his movements and continued to observe as he made his way to a construction site.

The NYPD was alerted as the suspect lingered near the site, carefully looking around, unaware that Shomrim volunteers were closely monitoring his actions. The suspect then bypassed the site’s lock and entered. Moments later, he emerged carrying a valuable jackhammer.

Recognizing the theft in progress, Shomrim immediately updated the NYPD. As the suspect attempted to flee the scene, officers arrived and took him into custody.

Further investigation revealed that the suspect was in possession of a stolen wagon reportedly taken from a local grocery store, along with expensive plumbing supplies believed to be stolen from a nearby plumbing store. Authorities are currently working to identify the rightful owner of the stolen items.
