On the last day of Chol Hamoed and just hours before the start of Shabbos and the second days of Yom Tov, a Shomrim volunteer on patrol noticed a suspicious individual wandering through driveways and alleyways in the neighborhood.

Sensing something was off, the volunteer immediately radioed for backup. Additional volunteers responded and began discreetly monitoring the suspect from a distance. Moments later, the suspect was seen grabbing an expensive bicycle and attempting to ride off with it.

Shomrim volunteers acted quickly, alerting the NYPD and providing them with the suspect’s location and direction of travel. Officers responded promptly and were able to stop the suspect nearby. He was placed under arrest for stealing the bike.
