Suspect Arrested by the NYPD with the Help of Shomrim After Stealing an Order from a Local Food Distribution Center

As the busy Erev Shabbos rush filled 13th Avenue, with heavy traffic and crowded streets full of shoppers preparing for Shabbos, a Shomrim volunteer, running his own errands, noticed something suspicious. In the midst of all the activity, a suspect looked around, thinking no one was watching, and began stealing an order from a local food distribution center. A box filled with expensive food items was quickly loaded into the suspect’s car, and he drove off, blending into the busy crowd.

Realizing what had happened, the volunteer acted fast. He immediately alerted other Shomrim volunteers, and together they began following the suspect’s car through the crowded streets. Shomrim also contacted the NYPD and informed the center’s owner. The owner confirmed that a box had just been stolen, and the NYPD responded quickly.

As Shomrim followed the suspect’s car, they kept the NYPD updated. Within moments, officers stopped the suspect and arrested him. The stolen items were returned to their rightful owner.

The owner thanked Shomrim for their quick response and the volunteer’s quick thinking. Thanks to Shomrim’s teamwork, the stolen goods were recovered.
