A suspect is under arrest after combing through backyards and driveways, targeting only high-end bicycles. The arrest was made by the NYPD with the help of Shomrim, after a volunteer on overnight patrol spotted the suspicious activity around 2:30 a.m. on a quiet local street.

The Shomrim volunteer observed the suspect walking from driveway to driveway, entering backyards, and closely inspecting bicycles. It quickly became evident the suspect wasn’t interested in just any bike he was hunting specifically for high-value models. In several instances, he examined a bicycle and left it behind, continuing his search for something more expensive.

As the suspect moved from one property to the next, Shomrim volunteers followed him on foot and maintained visual contact while coordinating with their team. Eventually, the suspect located and stole a luxury bicycle. Shomrim immediately notified the NYPD and provided real-time updates on his location.

Thanks to Shomrim’s coordinated efforts and constant communication, the NYPD responded promptly and stopped the suspect before he could flee. He was taken into custody, and the bicycle were recovered.
