At 2am, night-shift Shomrim volunteers were on patrol when one volunteer noticed an individual behaving suspiciously while walking between parked vehicles. Recognizing the pattern, he alerted additional Shomrim volunteers.

As they followed from a safe distance, the suspect was seen attempting to break into multiple cars. Moments later, volunteers observed him enter a vehicle and remove items from inside.

NYPD was dispatched to the location. Upon their arrival, the suspect tried to flee, but after a brief pursuit he was arrested.

Shomrim reminds the community to always lock their vehicles and remove valuables to help prevent incidents of this nature.
