How Can You Prevent Theft?
To protect your benefits from skimmers, follow these steps:
• Check for Tampering: Before inserting your EBT card at any machine, look closely for unusual attachments, glue marks, or anything that seems out of place.
• Cover Your PIN: Always shield the keypad when entering your PIN to prevent hidden cameras from capturing it.
• Use Secure Locations: Withdraw benefits or make purchases at trusted locations to minimize risk.
• Monitor Your Balance: Regularly check your EBT balance for unauthorized transactions by calling 888-328-6399 or visiting ConnectEBT.com.
• Lock Your Card: The HRA has introduced a new feature allowing cardholders to lock and unlock their EBT cards through the ConnectEBT app. This ensures your card cannot be used without your authorization.
