The incident began when Shomrim received reports of a chaotic crash that came to an end when the vehicle struck a pole. Hatzalah and emergency responders arrived promptly to assist, while Shomrim volunteers began searching the area for the fleeing suspects.

The driver was later determined to be driving while intoxicated (DWI) at the time of the crash.
As volunteers canvassed the neighborhood, Shomrim’s IT team used high-definition surveillance cameras to track the suspects’ movements. The team pinpointed the location of the suspects and directed volunteers to confirm their identities. Once verified, Shomrim alerted the NYPD, who arrived and made the arrest.

One suspect was taken into custody, while the other was transported by EMS to receive treatment for injuries.
