Girl Attacked at Bus Stop — Shomrim Trails Fleeing Suspect Until NYPD Moves In

Shomrim received multiple hotline calls reporting an assault at a bus stop, where a suspect was chasing a girl and trying to steal her phone. The girl ran, fell to the ground, suffered minor injuries, and her coat was ripped during the incident. Hatzalah was dispatched to evaluate her condition.

To the responding Shomrim volunteers, the suspect had stolen the girl’s phone and, in a shocking act, threw into the air a phone he had stolen from another location. Shomrim volunteers quickly followed the suspect without losing sight, providing continuous updates to NYPD.

Thanks to this coordination, NYPD, with the help of Shomrim, arrived quickly, stopped the suspect, and took him into custody.

Police confirmed at the scene that the suspect is linked to another robbery and assault in the area, including a cellphone theft near Church Avenue and McDonald Avenue location. He now faces charges for assault and theft.

The quick response of NYPD with the help of Shomrim prevented further harm and ensured the suspect could not flee the area.
