A dangerous situation unfolded when Shomrim volunteers spotted two suspects running in the neighborhood while carrying a machete. They immediately alerted additional Shomrim volunteers, who helped follow the suspects as they attempted to flee, while notifying the NYPD.
NYPD officers, guided by the information provided, stopped one suspect two blocks from the scene and the second several blocks further. Both suspects were taken into custody, and the machete was recovered.
Around the same time, the NYPD received a call reporting a person who had been stabbed. Investigators soon confirmed that the stabbing and the two suspects were connected.
The victim was treated by EMS and transported to the hospital with injuries.
