A dangerous situation unfolded on a busy Friday, when the streets were filled with shoppers preparing for Shabbos. Shomrim’s hotline received a call about a violent emotionally disturbed person causing a disturbance in the area.
The suspect then walked into a crowded deli, where the situation escalated further. In front of startled customers, the individual assaulted the store manager and forcibly took his phone, alarming bystanders and creating a tense atmosphere inside the business.
Shomrim volunteers quickly responded, helping stabilize the situation while keeping a close watch on the suspect and notifying the NYPD. Throughout the incident, they provided constant updates, enabling officers to respond promptly.
The NYPD stopped the suspect and placed him under arrest for assault and theft. Thanks to the coordinated response, the incident was brought under control without further harm, and the store manager was spared from injury.
