Around 6 a.m., Shomrim volunteers on early morning patrol noticed a man behaving suspiciously near local businesses. Instead of moving along, the individual was seen lingering and going through boxes, looking for something valuable to steal.

Recognizing the signs of a potential theft, the volunteers discreetly kept him in sight. After following him for several blocks as he moved from store to store, the suspect was spotted carrying away a package that had just been dropped off and trying to leave the area undetected.

Shomrim volunteers immediately alerted the NYPD and maintained visual contact with the suspect until officers arrived. Responding officers placed the suspect under arrest before he could flee with the stolen goods.
