A firearm was discovered abandoned on a local street, prompting immediate action by Shomrim volunteers and NYPD officers.

The incident began with a call to the Shomrim hotline reporting the presence of a gun lying on the side of the street. Recognizing the urgency and potential danger to public safety, Shomrim volunteers responded to the location. Upon arrival, they secured the area to ensure no one could access the weapon.

The NYPD was notified and arrived shortly thereafter to take possession of the firearm. Law enforcement officers have since initiated an investigation to determine how the gun came to be left in the area and whether it is connected to any criminal activity.
