At approximately 6:45 AM this morning, Shomrim volunteers responded to a series of urgent calls from residents reporting loud banging and the sound of glass shattering. Upon arriving, they encountered a violent individual actively damaging property and found a person on the street who had been assaulted during the chaos.
Shomrim volunteers discovered significant damage, including broken windows at a local shul, and quickly coordinated with other members to track the suspect’s movements while notifying the NYPD. Hatzolah also arrived at the scene to provide medical care to the assault victim, who fortunately sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
The NYPD responded promptly, arresting the suspect believed to be responsible for both the assault and the vandalism. The damage caused by the suspect affected the shul and multiple surrounding properties
