A suspect with a history of package thefts was arrested today after being caught in the act of stealing additional packages while dressed as an Amazon delivery worker. The arrest came following the sharp observation of a Shomrim volunteer who noticed the man moving suspiciously through the neighborhood wearing an Amazon jacket.

The suspect, who had multiple open warrants for package theft, was using the Amazon jacket to impersonate a delivery driver and avoid suspicion while targeting homes. However, his actions didn’t go unnoticed. A vigilant Shomrim volunteer immediately alerted other members, who coordinated to discreetly monitor the suspect’s movements as he continued stealing packages.

Once his pattern of theft became clear, Shomrim volunteers notified the NYPD, providing them with the suspect’s exact location and details. Responding officers, with significant assistance from Shomrim, arrested the man before he could continue his spree.

Community members expressed relief and gratitude following the arrest, noting how the suspect’s disguise made him appear legitimate.
