In a successful collaborative operation, a home attendant was recently arrested by the NYPD after being caught in the act of stealing high-end wigs and personal items from a residential building. This arrest followed more than a month of reported thefts, during which residents became increasingly aware of valuable items going missing from their apartments.
In response to these reports, Shomrim volunteers initiated a focused investigation, monitoring the attendant’s frequent, unauthorized visits to the building outside her regular work hours. By strategically positioning themselves around the area, Shomrim volunteers were prepared to act upon any observed suspicious behavior.
During one of these monitored visits, Shomrim volunteers witnessed the attendant stealing additional items. They quickly alerted the NYPD, who responded promptly and took her into custody at the scene. Following the arrest, officers, in collaboration with Shomrim volunteers, visited the attendant’s residence to recover the stolen wigs and personal belongings that she had taken over the preceding months.
