A Boro Park resident had a stressful moment when he got home and realized he was missing his suitcase containing expensive items and his tefillin. Unsure where he had left it, he immediately called the Boro Park Shomrim hotline for help.
Believing at first that the suitcase may have been left in the car service that brought him home, Shomrim assisted him in verifying with the driver that it was not in the vehicle. Once it was confirmed that the suitcase had likely been left outside the airport terminal, Boro Park Shomrim reached out to Rockaway Nassau Safety Patrol (RNSP) Shomrim for assistance.
The incident occurred as hundreds of travelers were returning from the annual trip to Lizhensk and other mekomos hakdoshim.
RNSP volunteers rushed to the airport and spoke with security to inquire about the missing luggage. It was soon discovered that someone had spotted the unattended suitcase and brought it to the airport’s lost and found. Once the traveler was informed, he headed back to the airport, where he confirmed that the suitcase was his and safely reclaimed his belongings.
The caller was overjoyed at how quickly his suitcase was found and returned. Thanks to the coordination between Shomrim teams and airport staff, his valuables and tefillin were safely back in his hands.
