A few young children were waiting for their bus to Chaider, happily playing and running around nearby. Without any apparent reason, a perpetrator walking past became upset at their behavior, approached one of the children, and slapped him across the face before continuing down the street.

Witnesses immediately followed the suspect while calling Shomrim. Volunteers quickly responded, picked up eyes on the perpetrator, and coordinated with the NYPD. Responding officers, with the help of Shomrim, stopped the suspect and placed the perpetrator under arrest.

Hatzalah was called to evaluate the child, who sustained a minor injury.
