Suspect Taken into Custody After Multiple Incidents of Indecent Exposure and Inappropriate Behavior

A man known for increasingly disturbing behavior was taken off the streets today following several alarming incidents involving attempts to lure children toward his vehicle.

Shomrim received multiple reports describing a man repeatedly driving through local streets and attempting to engage children inappropriately. Witnesses reported that he would park near schools and playgrounds, calling out to children in an apparent effort to draw them closer to his car.

Shomrim volunteers remained on high alert, closely following the suspect’s movements particularly during times when children were outside, leaving school, or playing in front of their homes. Earlier this afternoon, one of the volunteers on patrol spotted the suspect and immediately alerted other volunteers and the NYPD. Working together, Shomrim and the NYPD coordinated a response, and the individual was located and taken into custody by NYPD with the help of Shomrim.

Community members expressed deep relief following the arrest. The suspect’s behavior had become increasingly bold, raising serious concerns among parents, especially after repeated sightings of him circling areas where children were gathered.

This case serves as a critical reminder to parents and guardians: children should never approach a stranger’s vehicle under any circumstances. Encourage them to stay with friends, trust their instincts, and immediately report any suspicious activity to a trusted adult and to Shomrim.

Anyone who may have additional information or believes their child may have been approached is urged to contact both Shomrim and the NYPD.
