A suspect targeting construction vehicles was caught thanks to the vigilance of Shomrim volunteers and the quick response of the NYPD.

While on patrol late at night, Shomrim volunteers spotted a suspicious moped moving slowly alongside parked construction vans. Sensing something was wrong, they discreetly followed from a safe distance.

Moments later, the suspect, believing he wasn’t being watched, stopped and broke into a construction van, stealing valuable items. Volunteers immediately alerted the NYPD and continued to monitor the suspect until officers arrived.

Within minutes, the NYPD responded and placed the suspect under arrest before he could escape.
