A Shomrim volunteer, who happened to be shopping for lunch at a local convenience store, noticed a man walk in, take food without paying, and walk out. Recognizing the theft in progress, the volunteer immediately alerted other Shomrim volunteers and notified the NYPD.

The suspect attempted to flee by heading to the nearest train station and boarding the next train. Thanks to the quick response and coordination between the NYPD and Shomrim, officers arrived promptly and arrested the suspect for shoplifting.
