The case began when Shomrim received a report of a road rage incident during which a victim was assaulted and forcefully thrown to the ground. Within minutes, volunteers obtained a description of the suspect’s vehicle. Over the next several hours, the IT team reviewed camera footage and analyzed his movements, ultimately identifying his daily routine and travel pattern.
A volunteer on patrol later spotted the vehicle and began following it discreetly. He requested additional units to assist in continuing to follow the vehicle without alerting the suspect. As the operation progressed, Shomrim alerted the NYPD to the suspect’s location.
Thanks to the joint efforts of the NYPD with the help of Shomrim, the suspect was located and taken into custody. He now faces charges related to the hit-and-run with injuries.
