A Boro Park Shomrim volunteer on patrol heard a car alarm sounding and immediately turned his attention toward the area. Moments later, he observed a male running away from the vehicle. Recognizing suspicious behavior, the volunteer quickly alerted additional Shomrim volunteers and notified Flatbush Shomrim as the suspect crossed into their area.

Shomrim volunteers discreetly followed the individual, observing him as he attempted to enter several parked vehicles. NYPD officers were dispatched to the scene while Shomrim maintained constant visual contact.

When officers arrived and approached the suspect, he tried escaping by jumping through multiple backyards. A short canvass followed, during which the suspect was discovered hiding under a car.

The NYPD, with the help of Shomrim, placed the suspect under arrest. The suspect had a knife in his possession, and multiple stolen items were recovered from him.
