A buchir who accidentally left his tefillin on an MTA city bus was relieved to have them safely retrieved by Shomrim.
The incident began when the buchir called the Shomrim hotline to report that he had mistakenly left his tefillin on a bus earlier in the day. Volunteers immediately began reviewing surveillance footage and worked to trace the route of the bus.
As additional volunteers canvassed the area in search of the bus, in middle the search one volunteer spotted the bus it in real time on the move.
He approached the bus at the next stop and spoke with the driver, explaining that he was searching for a lost religious item. The driver granted permission to board and search the vehicle and there, still on board, were the tefillin.
Thanks to the coordinated effort, the tefillin were returned to their grateful owner.
