The NYPD, with the help of Shomrim, arrested a suspect connected to an assault on Church Avenue near the Prospect Expressway, where a victim was threatened by the suspect claiming he had a firearm and was then pepper sprayed before the suspect fled the scene.
Shomrim was alerted as soon as the incident occurred, and volunteers quickly responded to assist. Shomrim’s IT team worked closely with the NYPD, reviewing hours of camera footage to help identify the suspect’s vehicle. Once the vehicle description was confirmed, Shomrim patrol volunteers were notified to keep watch.
Earlier today, a sharp-eyed volunteer spotted the vehicle while patrolling the neighborhood. He immediately notified the NYPD and other volunteers, who discreetly followed the car until officers arrived.
NYPD units then moved in, stopped the vehicle, and arrested the suspect with the help of Shomrim.
