A suspect who allegedly shoplifted from a local store was arrested by the NYPD with the help of Shomrim.

Shomrim volunteers on patrol noticed a suspicious individual and followed him for several blocks as he repeatedly looked around and acted suspiciously. The suspect then entered a store, shoplifted merchandise, and walked out without paying. As the store owner ran after him, attempting to stop him, Shomrim volunteers kept him in sight and immediately notified other volunteers and the NYPD.

Officers arrived shortly afterward and took the suspect into custody. The stolen items were returned to the store owner, who expressed deep appreciation for Shomrim’s immediate assistance. The NYPD also thanked Shomrim for their outstanding work in helping bring the situation under control and keeping the community safe.
