In the early morning hours, a Shomrim volunteer, who was starting his bus route as part of his day job, noticed a vehicle driving the wrong way down a one-way street. The driver was swerving dangerously, posing a serious risk to pedestrians and children waiting for their buses.
Recognizing the potential danger, the volunteer quickly alerted additional Shomrim volunteers while notifying the NYPD. As Shomrim volunteers kept an eye on the vehicle from a distance, the driver continued driving recklessly, striking multiple parked cars.
The NYPD, responding promptly to the call, arrived on the scene, stopped the driver, and placed her under arrest.
The driver was charged with driving while intoxicated, causing property damage, driving with a suspended license, and possession of drugs.
