A masked suspect attempting to steal a moped was stopped by the NYPD with the help of Shomrim after a coordinated response led to his arrest—and the discovery of a large knife in his possession.

Shomrim received a hotline call from a concerned passerby who noticed the masked individual acting suspiciously near a moped. Volunteers quickly responded to the area, locating the suspect and keeping him under watch as he tried to make his way through the neighborhood.

As the suspect attempted to leave, Shomrim continued tracking his movements while notifying the NYPD. Officers arrived and stopped him for questioning. While checking him out, they found a large knife on him, leading to his immediate arrest.

The suspect was charged for attempting to steal the moped and possession of the weapon.
