A Shomrim volunteer on patrol noticed a suspicious individual loitering near parked cars. The volunteer saw the suspect removing a license plate from one vehicle and immediately called for backup from other Shomrim volunteers. The NYPD was dispatched to the location.

While following the suspect and waiting for the police to arrive, the Shomrim volunteers observed him stealing additional license plates from nearby vehicles. When the officers arrived, they stopped the suspect and recovered multiple stolen license plates from his possession.

Thanks to the vigilance of the Shomrim volunteer and the prompt response of the NYPD, further thefts were prevented, and the suspect was taken into custody.
