Shomrim received a hotline call reporting that a Kia vehicle had been stolen. Shortly afterward, Shomrim volunteers began reviewing security camera footage from the surrounding area to track the vehicle’s movements.

While following the cameras, volunteers observed the stolen car stop a few blocks away. The individuals involved were seen removing items from inside the vehicle and throwing the contents onto the street before leaving the area.

Among the discarded items was an expensive professional keyboard. Further review of the footage showed that the keyboard was not taken by those who stole the vehicle, but was later picked up by a passerby.

Shomrim volunteers continued reviewing camera footage step by step, following the passerby’s movements through additional cameras. This work led Shomrim to the individual who had picked up the keyboard, allowing the keyboard to be recovered and returned to its rightful owner.
