Shomrim is thanking community members who shared their outside security cameras. Their help made it possible to identify the suspects who were responsible for the swastika graffiti that appeared at 18th Avenue Park over several days in a row.
Using footage from nearby homes and businesses, the NYPD with the help of Shomrim were able to track the suspects’ movements and make arrests. Without this cooperation, solving these repeated incidents would have been much harder.
This case shows how important it is for residents to be willing to share their cameras so Shomrim can access footage in real time when immediate footage is needed. Many people already have cameras shared in addition to Shomrim’s own camera network.
Shomrim is asking the community to join the camera network and be here to help our community and share the outside cameras.
You can share your cameras to:
cctv@boroparkshomrim.com
If you need help setting up your system, Shomrim will gladly assist you.
By working together, we can keep our community safe.
