A young boy riding his Segway was violently attacked in broad daylight after noticing two individuals following him at close range. Fearing for his safety, he called the Shomrim hotline for help.

While still on the phone, the two suspects suddenly ran toward him, threw him off the Segway, and took it. A Shomrim volunteer who witnessed the attack jumped out of his vehicle to shield the child and coordinate the response. As additional volunteers arrived, they began following the suspects from a distance while notifying the NYPD.

The NYPD arrived shortly after and, with the help of Shomrim, placed both individuals under arrest. The stolen Segway was recovered.
