A frightening incident unfolded just outside of Boro Park after distressed individuals called the Shomrim hotline, reporting that they and others had been threatened by an armed suspect.

Shomrim volunteers responded quickly, ensuring the callers’ safety. As the callers lost visual contact with the suspect, Shomrim picked up eyes on the individual, who was still seen holding a firearm. Maintaining a safe distance, they continued to follow the suspect while providing constant updates to the NYPD.

Responding NYPD officers, with the help of Shomrim, located and stopped the suspect. The individual was taken into custody, and officers recovered two firearms from his possession.

Thanks to the coordinated efforts of Shomrim and the NYPD, the dangerous situation was brought under control without further harm.

The NYPD is continuing to investigate the incident.
