In the early hours of the morning, Shomrim night patrol units played a key role in the arrest of a bicycle theft suspect. At around 3:00 a.m., a Shomrim volunteer on patrol spotted a man behaving suspiciously—loitering, inspecting mailboxes, peering into driveways, and moving through alleyways.
Sensing a potential threat, the volunteer alerted other patrol members to monitor the individual from a distance.
Soon after, the suspect was caught stealing a bicycle. Shomrim promptly notified the NYPD, who arrived quickly and arrested the suspect without incident.
