2 Suspects Arrested, Loaded Gun Recovered

At approximately 3:00 AM on Friday morning, while residents were asleep, a Shomrim volunteer on patrol observed two suspicious individuals with face coverings moving between parked vehicles and shining flashlights through the windows.

Recognizing behavior consistent with recent car break-in patterns, the Shomrim volunteer immediately alerted additional Shomrim volunteers on patrol, who began following the suspects from a safe distance. The two suspects were seen attempting to gain entry into multiple vehicles, including a BMW and a Range Rover. The suspects then shattered the vehicle windows in an apparent attempt to steal items from inside the vehicles.

Shomrim volunteers maintained coordinated observation and provided real-time updates to the NYPD, allowing responding officers to quickly locate the suspects.

The NYPD with the help of Shomrim arrested the suspects for breaking into vehicles and attempting to steal property from inside the cars. During the arrest, officers recovered a loaded firearm from one of the suspects.

This incident highlights the ongoing overnight patrol efforts of Shomrim volunteers, remaining alert while the community sleeps and helping keep neighborhood streets safe.

Always remember: if you see something suspicious, call Shomrim right away at 718-871-6666. Do not approach or attempt to scare off suspects, as you never know what they may be carrying. Never leave any valuables in your car, especially when they are visible from the outside.
